COVID IN THE HOUSE OF OLD
Official Opening – Friday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m.
The Time for Change Group is pleased to announce that the exhibit “COVID in the House of Old” is coming to Century House. The exhibit comprises seven chairs, each commemorating an individual who died in care during the pandemic, and depicting their story. It is compelling and informative, and shines a light on the poor state of residential care. Over 7,000 seniors died of COVID-19.
We invite you to the opening of the exhibition on Friday, Oct. 21, at 2:00 p.m. Guest speaker Megan Davies will address the importance of reconstructing care for the elderly. You’ll be able to view the exhibit, The chairs will be connected to audio so you can listen to their stories. We hope to see you there! It’s free, you needn’t register in advance, and light refreshments will be available.
This exhibit was created by Professor Megan J. Davies Health & Society Program, Department of Social Science, York University, Ontario.
The exhibit will remain in place into November; details soon.
